It might be your periods or it might just be your body getting ready to start a bit further into the future. Once you've started and had a few periods though you'll probably start to recognise exactly how you feel just before you start. Until then, you'll just have to wait patiently and keep some towels handy in your bag or by the toilet for when it does start.

It's possible that it might be your period. Ignore some of the stupid answers on this page and remember it's perfectly natural.
You should look out for 'spotting', you don't suddenly start bleeding heavily when you start your periods. Spotting is when you notice very tiny amounts of blood on the tissue when you wipe after going to the toilet.
As a precaution, I would make sure that you have a couple of sanitary towels in your schoolbag.
You can also try mentioning this to your mum if you haven't already. Remember that even though she seems really old now, she went through exactly the same thing !

Hi usually you will get really tried and have stomach cramps and back ache, but usually you just feel unwell. I started my period when i was 13 and had been having symtoms for about 2 years before i came on. So it could be but you will know sooner or later. Just get some pads in just incase. Or talk to you mum as she will understand.

you'll probably start feeling tired/dizzy when you start. But every girl has different symptomes. I personally always get spots 3 days before i start though i have clear skin generally, and then get cramps an hour before. Once you have a couple of them you'll get used to it and you'll begin to understand your own body. But don't be scared, you have your female relatives and older females friends im sure who will be there for you. And congratulation, you are on your way into womanhood :)
