Before my period comes I am perfectly fine. But, when it come and for 4-5 days of wearing pad, my stuff has an odor. The smell only last about 2 days. I went to the doctor before my period and I have no infections, or std's what could be the cause of this odor? Is it just from wearing the wet damp pads or what?

Sometimes when a woman is menstruating the vagina cannot clean it's self many people don't know that this is what happens inside, there are liquids within the lining of the uterus, and vagina that actually clean inside, but obviously this becomes limited when a woman menstruate,it is the stale blood, so it leaves an odor, my advice would be to wash even more frequently, and change sanitary towels regularly, also try to avoid bubble baths, or sweet scented soaps, and definitely do not spray any perfumes, or body sprays in that area...there are also feminine body washes you could try, that will keep you fresh all day. Good Luck. Warning! never ever use baby powder on your sanitary towel, it has been proven that powder in the private area, is one of the factors that cause vaginal cancers.

It's exactly that, just from having to deal with pads for a few days, and plus your period can change how you smell also. If it really bothers you use some baby powder sprinkled on your pads to keep them a little drier, it helps. Or, if you can, try tampons and avoid that whole scene altogether. *sigh* isn't it fun being a girl?

blood has an odor from decomposing. after it leaves your body it no longer gets oxygen (that's y it turns brown!) It then begins to smell. add your body's warmth and it can get real funky down there! change your pads more often, or use tampons, it will help!

I doubt that it is from the pad. Well for the most part this is just how things are for some girls after periods.

Change your pads more often AND DRINK LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER! And I've read that you are NOT suppose to douche! Clean yourself from keeping your body hydrated !

yes hon, remember blood stinks very bad but mostly, if you are the type of woman who does not douche, that could play a part too. I have to be careful of what kind of acidic food I eat right before my period.
