well that all depends upon your preference of music. a person that likes country is going to say no. i like to think of pink floyd as one of the best but to say the best would mean they never had a song i didnt like which would be untrue. they have one of if not the best guitarists known in our day and age (david gilmour) but just to have a superb guitarist does not make a band "the best". pink floyd has produced many albums that i have listened to and thought "my God, this sucks". however when i hear them do the same songs live (pulse, delicate sound of thunder, etc) i get to hear a nonedited no holds barred true intention of what the band wanted us to hear. some of my other favorite groups would be alice in chains, megadeth, pantera, and metallica, but each one of those have had their fair share of suck-a$$ albums. if pf made another album, would i buy it? hell yes. i probably wouldnt listen to it if i didnt like it, however if they were to go on tour id definitely buy tickets. pf is most assuredly a band you cant afford not to go see in concert regardless of whether you think they are the best or not.

No, and they're not in the top 5, either. They were decent at one point but, at times, they put out things on albums that most people wouldn't waste their time listening to.

Pink Floyd songs I like:

Another Brick In The Wall
Learning To Fly
On The Turning Away

Yes.

It's nice to be able to listen to a band who didn't spend 30 years making album after album with the same song over and over again.

Or a band that could experiment, and turn it into something worthwhile.

Etc.

no- probably The Who or so says my husband. I personally don't have a favorite but if I did I do know it wouldn't be Floyd.

I love Comfortably Numb, it's awesome. But REM are better because Michael Stipe's eyelashes are also awesome
