When it happened to me when I was young, it was due to low blood pressure. If you live anywhere near a walmart with pharmacy, go there, and put your arm in the cuff and sit quietly for a minute before starting the test. Don't cross your legs or arms during this test, cause that will raise your reading. Then wait two minutes and try it again. It should read a little lower the second time if you remain quiet and still.

I learned to stand up more slowly than to spring up. If your blood pressure checks low, it's nothing to worry about, just be careful about jumping up from a chair.

That would be my first guess. Any others would be a much distant second guess.

It's called orthostatic hypotension. when you're sitting your blood pressure is normal and there is an equal amount of blood pressure all over. but, when you stand up, the blood in the lower part of your body, takes too long to get back to your head and causes an immediate drop in blood pressure which is why you get the blurry vision and faintness. Be careful. before standing up, scoot yourself to the edge of the chair or bed and sit for aminute to stabilize your blood pressure, then get up slowly. If it keepshappening you should see your doctor. It could be a precursor to any type of heart problem also, you can actually pass out and hurt yourself.

You are describing what is called Orthostatic Hypotension, which means that a persons blood pressure falls when they stand up, especially after lying down, bending down or sitting. While this can be caused by dehydration, virus infection, or even heart disease, probably the most common cause is too much blood pressure medication. See your doctor or have someone get you to an emergency room, since the condition you are describing can sometimes cause strokes or heart attacks.

Sometimes when I don't eat enough, or have too much salt and not enough water in my body, I get lightheaded and my vision blurs. It happens when I have eaten pork or seafood, too. I do have high blood pressure, so I must not forget my medicine or it will happen. When I drink alcohol, then enxt day I have the symptoms; and if I drink too much in the moment, I have them. I have heard brain tumors and vision problems can do the same thing. Any of that sound familiar? Pregnant? Afraid of something? What is it you don't want to see? These are metaphysical appraoches. See sites to get into below.
