Americans spend almost a quarter of an eight-hour workday—1.86 hours—playing on the Internet, socializing and running errands. Do you ever goof off at work?

I average 37mins of goofing off at work while i watch my coworkers do almost nothing in a given workday...It's really irritating to me. But I'm changing my policy to 'if you can't beat them, join them.'
I hate feeling like i'm one of a very small group of people working my butt off. At the same time though I feel bad on days when I goof off like the majority because there are still a few others that work pretty hard and I feel like I'm letting them down.

goofing off is a good thing as long as you know when to work and when to play and if one American says they don't goof off at work they are not telling the full truth

I stopped working 8 months ago. Now I live of my investments! Yes, I paid my full dues and now I can afford to be "playing on the Internet" etc.

Of course!!!! You have to have some kind of socializing at work or you'll go crazy! At least that is true for me. Everyone does it, even the bosses.

Never ever.... I'm a teacher so you can't really get away with it! I don't even have time to check my email during my lunch break!
