errrm... you dont make what you mean very clear. If you mean what does it stand for it is Deoxyribonucleic acid.

The only other thing you might mean is to do with RNA, which is ribonucleic acid, which has oxygen in it and DNA doesnt contain oxygen, so i suppose it could be considered an "expansion" of DNA, But I dont realy know what you mean by "expansion"

Well if you are asking what it stands for then other people have answered. If you want to be about DNA replication, the word you are looking for is elongation. Where one nucleotide gets added onto the end of the growing strand according to he code of its partner strand. Look up DNA polymerase (the enzyme that catalyses the reaction) for more information about it.
