In the Netherlands we have the expression 'a little lie for ones own good'. In the Englich language there is probably a simular expression.

What do you think about them?

I think LITTLE lies to save someone from being hurt are fine...but I generally despise lying.

in the southern.u.s. we lie a lot because we do not wont to hurt anyones feelings. on the small things like. does this dress make me look fat? no honey, you look fine. thats ok.liar liar pants on fire, we call little lies, white lies..

They are sometimes called "white lies" or "fibs". Those pesky things have a way of growing!

i don't like them and i don't like telling them, although sometimes i do.
but in the long run, it's for no one's good, it's just a quick fix, i think. yet i still tell them sometimes!
