I think 'stupid' is very appropriate. Unless you want to commit suicide and don't care about reality. W is hoping that all the 'stupid' people will join the armed forces so he can expand his war(s) in the middle east. If you think Iraq is a bust, then just wait til that moron starts a nucleur war in Iran.

If you were offered a job where you were told that you would be exposed to hazardous conditions not only during your 8 hour shift but throughout the day 24/7 without any OSHA protections, that you could be a victim of hidden explosives, that you would be asked to confront hostile masses of armed populace, to ride unprotected in easily targeted vehicles. to endure 100+ degree temperatures for months at a time without opportunities to bathe, use a clean bathroom, or eat a hot meal. all for $500/week and the reward of being considered by your fellow citizens as a hero and a great American if you are killed or seriously wounded. Would you take the job.

I think the strong should protect the week no matter what. As an American who did and would again but they say I am to old so I can not, I say Yes. If you do not want the day you have to worry about a car bomb in your car or your sons car and are strong, GO, we need you. America is the home of the brave, liberals control the press and allways have, but we are still home of the brave.

Going to the armed forces is NOT stupid, it is an Honorable thing to do, what is stupid is politicians like Bush's bunch using them inappropriately in a war that they are not trained for, the thing in Iraq is not a war in the sense that there is no visible enemy and no way to effectively fight. Bring them home and have them defend our borders, that would do more to fight terrorism.

I think defending our country is a very noble and selfless thing for a man or woman to do. It is not stupid, not by any means. If our young men and women weren't over there fighting today, the war would be on our own soil like it was on 9-11. God bless them for having the courage to defend us abroad.

I don't think that going into the armed forces is stupid. I do, however, think that it is a great opportunity for people that have wasted their intelligence by not going to college. I also think it is better than being lazy and mooching off of your parents.

I think for me personally that I would not benefit much by joining the army therefore I think it would be stupid idea for me to join, but this is not to say that joining is neccessarily stupid for others because if it wasnt for others to defend our country our world our country would not be a better place to live

I admire the people that have served and are serving, its very depressing to hear about the servicemen and women that have died and are dieing each day fighting this war, our war

and its disappointing and upsetting to hear people go against them and make jokes and comments about them as if they have the right to do so

all depends on what your other options are, and what kind of person you are. For me, I was much better at designing weapons than using them, so 15 years as a aerospace engineer was clearly a better use of my talents for this country than being a foot soldier.

I think that "going to" (which I assume means joining) at this time is stupid. In general, I think it's fine. But right now you can bet 99% you are going to Iraq with a decent chance to waste your life.
