This has nothing to do with conspiracy theories,so to all who want to go down that route,FORGET IT!
The reason I ask this is because in the the initial aftermath OBL was blamed by the American administration but denied any direct involvement and praised the people who planned and carried out this despicable act.
Surely he would have been pleased to be able to claim responsibility for this
"Strike against the evil Americans" (not my opinion).
Have the US been looking for the wrong man?

You know your question ----It all sounds good. The fact remains that the American Government has already laid blame on this one man. It would take some deep undercover/secretive investigation to dig into in order to re-blame someone else. Even if the American Government after 5 years knew that OBL wasn't the blame do you actually think that they would admit it. They wouldn't put themselves in that position. Why do you think innocent prisoners are sent to jail for life, executed and no one actually gives a damn but the family members of the deceased or tortured ones. Personally, I'm done! I'm still sadden by the fact that 911 happened! I feel awful for the family members because I almost lost my son in Tower 1. But what I feel is going to happen is that if OBL is still alive or dead, the American Government and people want to see closure on this, and that's not going to happen until they have the head of OBL!

I don't believe your premise that OBL initially "denied any direct involvement." I don't remember that detail.

All I remember were continuous video loops of OBL bragging about what he perceived to be his greatest achievement.

OBL may not have worked alone. There may have been many co-conspirators.

But, based on our current knowledge set, he is the one person at the top that we know about.

Right now, he's in our sights. We'll seek him out and kill him. And, his buddies will fare no better.

Well the passenger manifests of the hijacked planes are a matter of public record. The CIA no doubt ran these lists through their database and came up with suspected Al Qaeda members on each flight, which pretty much eliminated the chance for coincidence.

I don't think the US is looking for a Man any more than they were looking for the Weapons of Mass Distruction. The US is playing war games over land and oil like they always are.
