It's JACHO and no they don't send anybody under cover. As a matter of fact they usually give the facility plenty of warning. Now the State Board of Health is a whole 'nother ball game. JACHO is a cake walk compared to State Surveys.

JCAHO doesn't use undercover patients. If they did every hospital in the country would be shut down permanently. No hospital or nursing home adheres to their moronic dictates except during the time of their visits. They are supposed to start doing unannounced visits this year and I can see a lot of places getting closed down or fined for not locking things up. All of their dictates interfere with patient safety. I would like to see JCAHO shut down permanently. Most of our time is wasted on JCAHO paperwork now instead of taking care of the patients.

I think sometimes they do, although I don't think I've ever had anyone disguised as a patient. But it could be a possibility.
