i have custody of my kids for 10.5 years now and i am remarried to a great guy for 9 years.. my kids go to their real dads for summer visitation and this year their dad filed for custody. i went to court and got temporary custody back but we now have a gal and have to go back to court in november . my kids want to live at their dads because he is never home and they can do what they want. but my lawyer says its not up to the kids anymore these's days. i'm scared to lose my kids my kids are 17 and 14 but my 17 yr old is learning disabled. my 14 yr old went from a's and b's to i dont care.. my kids are now out of control hateful behaviors and hates my household rules for they didnt have any all summer. i just want this over with and my kids to come home for i can get back to our normal lives not pins and needles. if i ask them to help with the trash i get attitudes that they dont have to at their dads.. oh by the way their dad is still single.my husband now of 9 yrs is just hurt .

Dont worry the only way a court will give your kids to your ex is if they was in a dangerous situtation and if not then they will stay in the stable home they have been in.. why move them now after all these years if nothing is wrong quit worring about if your gonna lose your kids and worry about straightening them out from their dads house.. and worry about their futures .. your their mom and thats all you get in life so they will always love you..

Your kids are now in the phase where mom and dad are always wrong. What ever you do you will get attitude... it just comes with having teenagers. Hang in there. They're not behaving in this manor towards Their bio dad because he's not really a stable person in their lives. They will turn to YOU when they need help. You are the one who has always been there and has set guidelines. I'm sorry your ex husband is now filing for custody, unfortunately I think at the age of 13 kids CAN decide who they want to live with. I'm not a lawyer but I thought they were old enough to decide. What ever happens just remember... you will always be their mother and they will always know that you are a stable person in their lives.

It's obvious that the kids don't really want to live with their Dad, they want to be where there are no rules. This happened to someone in my family. After the kids were in the "no rules" household the 14 year old ended up pregnant so there goes her life. The 17 year old, even though she did finish high school, was a straight A student and threw away a full college scholarship for drugs and boys and "life in the fast lane." Fight for your kids, they might hate you for it now, but when they are older they will thank you for it! GOOD LUCK!!!
