i downloaded messenger to my computer and and needed updated flash drivers and allsorts but now it seems to make my computer really slow, it keeps freezing on sites and allsorts. it's doing my head in. i'm not overly computer wise, does it need checkeed out by someone in the know or is there something obvious i need to do.

Seems like what you downloaded may have had a bug or something.

Go to start > all programs > accessories > system tools > system restore

Pick a date before you downloaded messenger and all the updates.

What this will do is reset your computer to a time before it was running slow. Let it restore your system. Then restart your computer. Then go back and redownload messenger.

I would switch to the Mozilla Firefox browser, much safer, better and cooler.

Also, you may want to make sure to keep the Windows Task Manager open and look for any suspicious processes but only close a process if you really know what it is.

Download Ccleaner from the link below, install & run then restart.

Disable system restore and

Go to an online virus scan site such as
http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Re-enable system restore.

Ensure you have all the windows updates

Ensure you defrag the hard disk
Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Defrag.

sounds like you downloaded a virus or trojan run your anti virus program
