We need cabinet knobs for every single cabinet & drawer in our house (kitchen, 2 bathrooms, laundry room) because the people who lived there before us destroyed all of them to the point of no return & as you know it can be very expensive to purchase all those & we are on a VERY VERY tight budget. I was wondering if anybody knew where to get cabinet knobs (doesn't particuarly matter what they look like, can be very plain) for around 50 cents or less each? I really need help & have already looked at all of the home improvement store & they do not have any that cheap, all are close to a dollar which is way too much for us to afford. Does anybody know of any websites? I'd really appriciate all of the help & thank you in advance!

Do you have a Habitat for Humanity store in your area? There is one in the D/FW area that sells them for $0.25 and up. You could also try ebay or check the clearance at a home improvement store. Wal-Mart sells them too, but I think they are about $1 each.

Try your local Super WalMart or the "bargain bin" at your local Home Depot. We found some there (HD). There are the individual ones for $1-$10 each and then there are "bulk" ones that you get for $5-$10 a bag with 15-20 knobs inside. The ones we chose are simple smooth plain undecorated brass, but we saw silver-tone ones as well.

I found some rather nice ones for about 10 cents a piece at the Salvation Army thrift store. I did have to paint them because they were pretty beat up in the condition I bought them and they were missing the screws to attach them. You can also check at the Goodwill, AmVets and other drop off donation stores or builder's salvage yards. I would also take a look on the freecycle website for your area, you'd be surprised at the stuff people give away.

Look and ask about a any company the buys/sell old stuff form hose that are torn down. Or go to a cabinet maker ask to buy the old knobs from one of their jobs.

Go to your local kitchen cabinet refacer. They take off old cabinet drawers and doors all day long. While they might reuse the wood, the pulls are getting tossed. Make them an offer.

Suggestion try these:

Hardware stores often toss out much stuff, some of which could be used as knobs, handles...etc... sometimes tossed are knobs themselves..

My dad used to take items tossed out, and make knobs out of them.

Try also charietys that deal in giving away product such as this.

Um,. around here 50cents per knob would buy very very very high quality knobs.. They range from 2cents to $10.
My own were 75cents and look exactly like my brothers knobs of $125/ea... (brother wealthy, I aint).

if you have a habitat for humanity in your area they have a thing called a re-sale store. They have all kind of building supplies for less cost and the money goes back to the people
