Height of handrail at stairs is 2'-6" to 2'-8" and at landings 2'-10" to 3'-0". Not sure what you mean by spindles, typically two per stair, spaced evenly will work. but the spindles must be at least 2" back from the edge of stair tread, according to Architectural Graphic Standards book.

Height of handrail from the nose of the step should be 2'-10" to 3'-2" (I just use 3') and the spacing of the spindles should not allow a 4" ball to pass between them. This means if you use square 2x2's they would be 5.5" on center. If they are shaped then it would be a bit closer together.

If you have any open landings then the handrail becomes a guard rail and the height would be 42".

There were so many woodworking plans with this collection and you will not believe this but there are over thousands plans in the one package deal. Go here https://tr.im/1GpNV
This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.
