You basically need to lengthen your strides whilst jogging. Taking too many small steps tires you out.
Try the "Farleigh Method".
It goes like this:
A track has 8 lanes spread over 400m.Start at the outermost lane (lane 8). The first 100, jog slowly, the next 100 run a bit faster, the 3rd 100m stride (open your legs to cover the greater distance) and the final 100m, sprint.
Then do it all over, this time from Lane 7 and so on until you covered Lane 1. In short you would have run 3200m, but you did it by conditioning your body to adapt to different methods of running.
Do this on alternate days, on other days do a slow jog, say 2.5-3km for a start, gradually increasing.
Don't over run, I think 5km is just nice for a good run. I prefer to run 3km though, although as fast as I can.

Try timing yourself, that's what I did. Start my jogging until you feel like you can't go anymore, but are still able to walk. See how long you went. Then do that amount of time every day for a week. Every week, add 5 minutes to the previous amount of time and soon you will doing over an hour! It works! It also helped me lose 50 pounds.

On the treadmill, I always increased the speed for an interval and then lowered the speed. I would also increase the grade and then lower it.
On the ground, you could run faster for a little bit and slow down and try to run a little more faster the next time around.
Both build speed and endurance relatively quickly.

you can improve your endurance by eating a healthy meal before running/jogging. And everyday pace yourself, one day jog a approximate rate of speed, the next day try picking up your pace a little faster. Oo yea DRINK LOTS OF WATER!

Be sure to bring bottled water and SIP accordingly. The only way that you may improve endurance is practice. Keep running, consistently!
