My nephew started being sick on Friday of last week. But now my niece is getting sick. Right now she's running a 102 temp, she's beat red, and she has little bumps all over her face. The mono is going around here in Indiana. 3 kids that I use to watch has it now, so they are being watched by their grandma. My nephew has imenioa(sp?) But he didn't get little bumps on his face. He just had a fever of a 103.

I don't know what to do. I'm the babysitter of her and I have her 5 days a week. I've been giving all the kids either Motrin, Dimetapp, or Children's Tylenol. I watch 4 kids, since the other 3 are really sick. But they've all be exposed to the other 3 kids with Mono.

I've been giving them juice and I'm trying to get them to craft and arts or watch movies so they don't do much play to make their temps raise again.

I don't know what else to do.

My nephew has been to the doctor's 3 times. They basically kicked my sister-in-law out b/c all my sister-in-law do was bug everyone in the hospital calling them stupid b/c they weren't waiting on her first.

Plus I can't just take them to the hospital. I have 4 kids and I only have 2 car seats.

Plus the doctors around here don't give a ****, all they want is the money. When I was sick and had Walking Inmenia(sp?) the hospital told me there was nothing wrong, I went to the another hospital and they told me I had that.

Thanks for helping though

My mom and I think they do have Mono, because they have all the systems.

My nephew has had all his shots and he don't get no more till he's 10. Then my sister-in-law didn't take my niece to finish getting her shots, so no my niece doesn't have all her shots. I don't know about the other 2 kids, they aren't mine. But I think they would, their mother is very protective and cares about their health.

Right now everyone is just sitting down because their fevers started to raise again.

The other mothers know that the children are sick. ALL of the children are sick and that's because the other babysitter that watched them has 3 kids that are sick. That wasn't my responsibility. They got sick from other babysitter.

I can't just refuse it. My nephew and niece's mom has taken sick days and if she takes more she's fired and can't take anymore.

The other parents can't afford it either. The mom and dad took a week off because the mom went under surgery so the dad has been watching them while they stay at the hospital. She has to get back to work.

So my chances are slim. I'll stick with what I'm doing. Giving them medicine, keeping an eye on them, and trying to get them to sleep as much as I can.

Now I just have 2 kids, one of them is sleeping and the other one is watching a movie.

Thanks for the help. I figured I would get the response of "doctor" or other responses. But oh well.

Bye!

I'm not sure what to tell you. First, you ask what to do and my response would be "take them to the Emergency Room." That won't help because you CAN'T take them and even if you could, the doctors around your area don't care and won't help you. Since that's the case, I'd say just wait it out and do what you're doing. You only have two choices...doctor or no doctor.

First of all, get them all into seperate rooms. Next, if you are a certified babysitter (by the state) then you would know that it it against all rules and regulations to have any child in a child care situation who is running a fever or vomiting or one that could be considered contagious. You need to call everyone's parents and get that girl to the doctor. If she has something contaguious then it would be your resposibility to report it to the other parents.Bless you and I hope she is okay..

Since you are providing a service to her by watching her kids, tell her it is jeopardizing your income by not watching the other children. She, as the mother, is responsible for her children's health, not you. She needs to take a sick day or two and stay with her children until they are well. I would never leave my child with a babysitter if she were that sick, simply because she would feel better if I were there!

Those children should not be in your care while they are sick. The parents are taking advantage of you. You could get in some serious trouble if any of the other parents report you for taking care of their child while you are caring for another child with a communicable illness. Call their parents to pick them up. That is their responsibility as a parent.

Take them to one of those minor emergency clinics. They are usually pretty fast. You really need to take them in, call one of your friends over to take care of the other kids, or see if your regular doctor will make a special house call for you. Good luck.
