We have a video monitor and can watch her toss and turn (she is a very active sllepr) the problem is now every time she turns she wakes up and cries, my wife goes in and gives her the ninny and she goes back to sleep for an hour until she does it again. My ??? is do they make a larger positioner? or does anyone have any other suggestions? its like we are back to week one where we get no sleep at all, PLEASE HELP

If you notice that she always rolls over the same way try taking a blanket and rolling it up into an L shape and put it on that side, that way she won't roll over.

Sleep positioners become dangerous once the baby can wiggle around and turn over..there is a suffocation hazard. The do not make larger ones, because they are for very small babies. The only thing that may help her feel secure without it is to put a lightweight rolled up blanket on either side of her so she feels snugly. I say lightweight in case she pulls it up and it goes near her face. As far as the pacifier..If she cannot put it back in by herself, then you have 3 options: Either do it for her when she needs it, wean her off of it, or give it to her at bed time and do not go in to put it back when she wakes. I suggest just putting it back in her mouth, because she is still small and doesn't have the motor skills to do it alone yet.

This is the problem when you get your baby used to something without thinking that it will trouble you sooner or later. The best solution is to get your baby away from that sleeping habit and it is not that easy but it is the best. All my four kids sleep on the bed with me for the first two months only then they will sleep on the mattress lay on the floor in a saperate room. Now all three of my kids age 2, 4 and 6 are sleeping at their room and the 1 year old is still sleeping in my room but on the mattress so that they won't have this habit of cuddling with you and they are free to tose and turn around without you having to fear of them going to fall at night. Never let your baby have a certain habit that can trouble you in the future. Just be patient as it takes time for your baby to kick away that habit and don't ever give in or loose to your baby's cry.

At 6 months she is too old for swaddling really, but you could attempt it. She needs to find a different way to relax herself, and for some babies a bedtime bath does the trick. Something to add to it, I learned, is a 'baby massage'. In which you give your baby a warm bath...the water they are most comfortable with. After drying off, and in a quiet place, you take a bit of baby lotion and starting on her tummy, begin a light rub. Use a counterclockwise motion, and work your way out to the arms, then fingers, legs down to the feet and toes. It doesn't have to take forever, but it should be relaxing. After this give her the 'night time' bottle, slightly warmed. She should be able to fall asleep with whatever comforts her as well, blankies are usually preferred, but a binky works of course if that is what she prefers.
Don't expect this to work every night for one thing, and expect her pattern to change every couple of months, which of course requires an adjustment on you and your wifes part.
She has to adjust to not having the blocks, and it may take some time.
You can also try using a rolled up blanket on one side to prevent her from thrashing all the time. It may slow it down a tad, but really this is a normal adjustment for baby, don't worry too much. Just remember you have to get into the swing of things with her as much as she has to get into one that you create.
Don't be afraid to stick to a schedule - it will work. Be consistent.
I have gone through the same issues with my son (1 year), and that is still the quickest way to relax him, and usually his best nights are bath nights lol. Now I get to do it with another one.
Good luck to you both.

We went with the aid of an identical concern with our 6 month previous. We did not use a positioner. It grow to be only that he were in slightly bassinette and at with regard to an identical time we desperate he had outgrown that and grow to be waiting to sleep in his "toddler mattress", he found out the thank you to roll over. i don't think of that there is lots you're able to do. We only had to tolerate it for awhile. a pair of weeks or so later, our son have been given used to it and started snoozing in the process the night lower back. notwithstanding, he began snoozing on his abdomen. considering he could roll over we figured he grow to be risk-free like that. i assume as long as hes delicate!

deal with it!!! why would you have he'she sleep in a positioner all that time? (unless it was a doctor's order). the child has become used to that darned thing and now NEEDS it. Haha! you've created a baby monster. must be your first child ...everyone knows that if you get a baby used to something like that at an early age, you are bound to FIGHT to try and take it away from them, and if you win, you are sure to suffer from it.

I would just let her get used to not having one. It will be hard at first but with consistency she should adjust. At this age also they are learning what they can get their parents to do with crying. And they don't understand that you are still there if she doesn't see you. There are so many developmental things going on with babies at this age it is best to read about them to get an understanding of what would be healthy and good for her.

they have some that snap together buy one of those then add snaps to the end of the sleeper so its big enough. If ya don't know how to put it on or whatever bring it to a local sewing shop.

I am not sure if this is your first child or not, but I can tell you after 3 children sleep is kind of second rated! (hahahahaha)
Have you ever considered getting one of those papasauns? (spell check) ya know those HUGE kick back pillow chairs ..they are like baby recliners for grown ups?
