Isabella was the daughter of Philip IV. Philip IV was the son of Philip III. Thus, Edward is Philip III's great grandson.
Charles of Valois was the third son of Philip III, and Philip VI was Charles' son, making Philip VI the grandson of Philip III.
Thus, Isabella and Charles were first cousins (shared grandfather), and Edward would be Philip's first cousin, once removed. (Removed is used to note a difference in generations)
