I went to my ob today and they checked the heartbeat it was fine, they had trouble finding the heartbeat she had to really press down on my right side really low in the pubic bone area to fine it. It was strong at 160. My question is that I am almost 16 weeks is it normal for the baby to still be that low? On the pregnancy sites it says it should be out of the pubic bone by now. Is this to why I am not showing yet b/c it's so low. When should I expect the baby to rise up? Thanks

I am pregnant also (27 weeks) and I remember wondering the same thing when i was 15.4 weeks. I asked my doc and it is not uncommon for the baby to be that low. My baby never moved up until about week 23. I used to always feel him kicking me near my cervix and I was like Gee Whiz when am I going to be able to feel the baby further up.Trust me, when they move up, you will definitely begin to show more. :)

Its not just the baby in there, the placenta is actually the same size as the baby. In most cases the placenta is a little lower than the baby. But not always. Your baby itself is filling the pelvis, while the placenta half of your uterus is filling more of the abdominal cavity.

Things will change as the baby grows and move and kicks and everything.

If you're small it can be hard to find a heart beat at that many weeks anyway. Iam small and at 12 weeks my doctor had a hell of a time finding the heart beat. It was there adn fine, but waaaay down along my pelvis bone.

My son stayed low throughout my pregnancy. He almost always stayed below my navel. Many times I'd be washing in the shower and I'd feel him right above the pubic bone. He'd stick his little bottom out, I'd rub it, and he'd move to the other side. People doubted me until the ultrasound at 20 weeks when I pointed to the spot where I thought he was and the tech found him right away!

Every pregnancy, like every mom and every baby, is different. Enjoy yours as much as you can!

I am 32 weeks I never started to show until my 5th month and my baby is low as well. I was concerned also but the doctor told me it is normal and your baby is so tiny still everything is fine. So just relax and get lots of rest it is important for your baby to grow.

Good Luck and congrats

Depends, were you very thin before you got pregnant? Is this your first pregnancy? If yes to both questions, you should start showing at about 6 months and really pop at about 7 and a half. That is what happened to me. Good luck

Your baby could have implanted low. You'll find out when you go for your ultrasound. I wouldn't worry too much. I had a low laying placenta from the baby implanting in the wrong spot. My placenta was touching my cervix opening. After a few weeks, it corrected itself and moved up.

I didn't start showing until I was 7 months pregnant.

I started out at 95 pounds and was 135 when I delivered.

It took a while for me to start showing. Maybe around the 5th month. They always had trouble finding the beat. It sounds healthy to me though. I think it is normal. Everyone is different.
