Bibsters are great. I love them because I just pull one out and feed my son--and throw everything away. You don't have to get disposable but bibs (cloth or disposable) are definatly a must. A highchair is great too. I just got a high chair--my son is seven months and has been eating for the past four months--and it really saves your back (I fed him in an infant car seat and a swing). And when you feed him you need to make sure you have a wet paper towl to wipe his/her face. When I first started feeding my son solids he was a mess--we've both gotten better at it so the mess isn't as bad but in the begining it could get prety bad. That's all I can think of for now. I provided a link for you to check out the "bibsters" I was talking about if you are interested. They sell then pretty much everywhere. Hope this helps and good luck!

Get sippy cups, bids, receiving blankets cause the bids usually aren't enough, also try making your own baby food with a blender or food processor. This way you know what you're feeding the baby is really good for him or her. Also start him on water before the juice. You'll also need a crrier for the food when you travel. Avent has one with a cold pack and it keeps the milk or food the same tempature

Well, you definitely needs bibs! They tend to spit out the food a lot at first, because they aren't used to it. The Oatmeal baby cereal from Gerber is really good to use and if you mix it with some of the jars of baby applesauce, they will eat it better. Good luck!

I'd get some suppositories as well, you are starting solids extremely early and are likely to cause your baby to be backed up and or have an allergic reaction. ( mind you, if you are using formula you actually need to begin solids as formula is inadequate nutrition, if you are breastfeeding you can wait many more months )
A 4 1/2 month olds digestive system is still very immature, be careful not to over-feed.
Sorry if I sound snarky, early solids is something I feel very negatively about. :(

Those plastic bibs are great, you just wipe them down, no stains and reusable with good drip tray at bottom, as they get older they eat from the drip tray, no waste! Drinking cup, high chair is most essential to leave them to it once they got they hang of it! I'd also recomend a blender to mush up food once they can eat what your having, I started with carrots and mashed potato then progressed to more adventurous tastes. Good luck its a challenging time, gets you ready for potty training!!!!

bibs and lots of them I use to buy the disposable ones because some of the gerber food stains them. Make sure the spoons have plastic tips on them.
