It's me, my husband, my 3 year old, and my 3 month old. We are currently in Missouri and hate it. We are up for moving abotu anywhere as long as my husband can find a good job and there are good schools.

I guess there are lots of reasons to move and lots of things to consider when you think about where you want to go. Your husband's profession will have a lot to do with where you have good options. If he is a doctor, lawyer, banker, plumber, mechanic, etc. you have options just about anywhere. If he has a more specialized profession, that will limit where there are jobs available.

You should also consider if you want to be near any family members or if you are trying to put some distance between you and your family.

Climate also tends to be a big factor for many people. Do you want to be someplace warmer, less humid, more mountains?

If you want to move someplace very family oriented I would recommend either the Salt Lake City area of Utah or the Phoenix area of Arizona. SLC has four seasons, beautiful mountains, snowy winters, hot summers, nice spring and fall. Arizona has blistering summers and pleasant winters, nice desert scenery.

Wherever you do decide to go, I would suggest moving there and renting for at least a full year so you get a good idea of the area, the climate, etc. before you commit to buying a home. It's much easier to break a lease than sell a house!

Good luck!

Ya'll come on down here to Arkansas! Ha!!! Well, not sure he find a job, depends on what he can do. There a Jacuzzi Business just down the road from me. It has a sign for Help Wanted Maintenance Helper. BUT, I will say, I have seen this and it is taken down, then later it back up etc. So, either they hiring someone that just want a paycheck and then quit or they hard place to work for. This is the the Little Rock area. Arizona mentioned above is a good one. I have lived there and was NEVER sick! Guess it the weather. Now in Corpus Cristi, Texas. You close to the Ocean and my Brother says there a lot of Help Wanted there, but, his mentality of Help Wanted is a sign in front of McDee's. But, I bet there some good jobs too.
Hey, Branden W???? They still have Burger Beer up there in Ohio? Nothing like a good Burger for Breakfast! Ha!

Why Haines Alaska! The wife and I have lived in many states and towns looking for that dream town. This took us almost 20 years but we found it!
Here is a link about Haines http://outside.away.com/outside/destinations/200408/best_american_dream_towns_6.html
Haines has a low crime rate (you can leave the keys in you're car here) , good schools, beautiful post card landscapes, nice helpful people etc etc. And the avarage pay is higer here than the lower 48 due to the higher prices in the stores (due to shipping costs). As far as jobs there is a Big Kingston gold mine opening up near here, a mliti million dollar harbor construction project, a new school being bulit, and summer jobs working for Tourist guide services, local lumber yards, small markets, gas station etc etc. BUT leave the local fishing jobs alone it is a loose loose job. There is a local fish cannery as well. May is a good time to move here as things get slow around here by September.
And no its not an ice cube, its a costal rain forest with millions of acres of wilderness around it.
No malls (malls in nearby Juneau), no heavy traffic, no gangs, no drug lords, one bar, several churches, fresh sea food at your door and a million places to go camping fishing and hunting.
Summers are in the 70s and 80s winter in the 30s with a few days near zero.
But if you dont mind small towns, want a place that has old American values, where kids are safe and away from the "gangster kids", then Haines is it!

If tens of thousands of people from all over the world pay big buck to see our little town each year it has to be good!

Note we have many town folk from the southern US states.

Here is what its like there, my friends site:

Best of luck!

I would have to say my hometown. I live in Uhrichsville Ohio. It's about a hour south of Canton, and a hour and a half away from Columbus. It's a small town and a quiet one. We have great schools and there is always good jobs for those that are looking. Well I hope that I have answered your question. I know wouldn't want to be anywhere else but here.

As nice as California is, DO NOT go there. Kids need room & it is super pricey, super crowded & just not very family oriented in the bay area. Arizona is nice, if you like heat. extreme heat. Do some research on different areas of the country, check their climate, schools & then contact their local gov., they can send you information on the specifics. Good luck.

West Michigan (Grand Rapids, Holland, Grand Haven, Zeeland, Allendale, Rockford, etc.). Low cost of living. Good economy. Great Schools. On the "West Coast" of Michigan and the beautiful, sandy beaches of Lake Michigan.

The burbs of Atlanta!!! You get a lot of house for your money and the schools in Gwinnett County are the best. There are also many ways for the kids to get involved as they grow older. Lots of churches too...after all, it is the Bible Belt.
