At my work place all the workers were on the same level ( paycheck to paycheck) single or divorced, we all worked together and helped one another when needed. Then one found a new boyfriend and within months was married, moved into a new elaborate home, drives a new car, and makes sure that we all know she no longer has to worry about anything and that she doesn't even have to work and is thinking about quitting but loves her job and hates to leave. She has redecorated our unit and has decorated it with pictures of her new husband, her pool, house etc. We are all happy that she has found such good fortune but it's going too far and creating stress for several. I reminderd her where her roots were and she laughed at me and said that's because the rest of us didn't set our goals high enough. Help our office is in dismay.

You are pleasant, but remind her that this is a place of business and work still needs to be done, then limit your exposure to her

If she was merely a friend because you two worked together then slowly work her OUT OF YOUR life. There is no reason to be friends with someone who has such a negative effect in your life. Tell her how GENUINELY happy you are for her but that she has distanced herself and therefore you need to cut ties with her.

Tell her that her "moving to the other side of the tracks and braggng about it" is costing her in goodwill at work; suggest that she may just be right about not needing to work there any more and when she quits, NO ONE throw a party - just let her go and enjoy her new, shallow life.
