I can tell you from experience, you will be sorry if you buy that. I use C++ and photoshop 7.0 at the same time on mine and its dogs ville. mines semphron 3300, 1 gb, 80 gb, 15.4 and its pointless to open mulitiple apps. if you plan on doing the core design I'd get a desktop. I can get a lot more done on my desktop and then transfer the finished product to my laptop for presentation. trust me, do not buy that laptop.

if you are deadset on getting a laptop and you live here in the states I'd check out the following vendors

1. www.outpost.com (fryes)
2. www.newegg.com

look for refurbished. the warranty is much less, but you'll save some real money and be able to buy a 800.00 laptop for around 450.00

$450 sounds like a very good price for a 1.8 ghz. And the Pentium 4 makes it a better deal. You would usually pay this price for less ram and a celeron processor.

Good deal. I say go for it.

i does no longer recommend AVG, as when I instaled it on a computing gadget with a lot less spec than that the boot time higher heavily, and changed into annoying. i'd recommend avast! - it would not dissipate a lot memory, looks to artwork nicely, and easy to apply. A pay selection besides may be NOD32.

What does it have for a graphic card? Unless you absolutly need a laptop for what you paln to do you might get a better deal on a desktop machine with a good graphic card for the same price.

Not bad, but you can get more memory, and probably a faster processor speed for that price. I find my laptops on ebay. A little patience will get you a better deal for less than $450.00.

can u state what's ur range of price budget? do u really want cheap laptop or new one?

maybe u can try to survey for Dell or HP brand since they are less expensive for the same spec and u can get new one.

for desgin, i think the spec u stated above it okay. Here are some reference for laptops review and price comparison for different brands and spec:

40 gb is the hard drive, memory should be 1 gb, not 512.?
Freelancing requires graphics.
I think you can get a bettery buy, try leasing it.
