Having been on both the pill for years, and then the depo shot, I also had this experience with absense of periods.
I asked my OB/GYN if this was harmful? Her reply was to smile a bit, and to say that if there was something in there that needed to come out, it would! To my great relief.
But it makes sense too- If you are suppressing ovulation- as these two bc methods are supposed to do when they are working correctly, then you have no need to be replacing the menses lining every month.
If your friend has pain or discharge, then it would be more than appropriate for her to see a doctor- otherwise this is very normal. Do not worry unless the Dr. tells you to.
Stress kills!

Good luck to you both!
God Bless,
Anne

It's really according to her age and if she smokes. There are many risks if the person smokes. There are some always health risks but usually none that are serious associated with the pill. The pill is taken every day for 28 days and then off for a week and on again. There is small chance of getting pregnant while off the pill for the week. Really it all depends of the person it can vary from woman to woman. There are so many other questions that need to be asked with this persons health. I'm sure her doctor is taking care of her. A person needs a prescription for birth control pills.

I have PCOS and without B/C, I do not have a period. Well...I didn't have insurance for a long time, so I had no B/C. This went on for over a year, and no period, no pregnancy, nothing, which was cool for a while. After that while, I became concerned, saw a gyno specialist. She told me that a woman should have at least 4 periods a year, and 1 yearly PAP&Pelvic, for good gynocological health.

Best of Luck.

I even have labored in well being safeguard 15 years, I even have considered directors misinform everybody they are in a position to. some have long gone so a basic approaches to cover documentation it fairly is state reportable, to those that over see regulations in well being care centers and the state's attorney generic. So i don't carry the story as actuality. What with regard to the police officer? Who grow to be he? law enforcement officials could be of greater advantageous character than to easily spout untruths of this form. grow to be he a McCain or Obama supporter who gave a tragic tale to her understanding she might provide a policeman the honour of character immediately? i think of there is greater to this tale than Hillary repeating it.
