I had mine pierced once, I took it out because my friend had to get 2 root canals because of tooth breakage, caused by the metal in the tongue ring. Also if you dont clean it properly you will always have bad breath. Since I used to have mine pierced I would say stick to what your mom is saying, it will save you in dentist bills!!!!!!!

I think you should wait until you are old enough to make that choice on your own. Naturally most mothers will frown upon piercings and tattoos. I think you shouldn't. There are lots of issues involved that you might not think of...gum issues, chipped teeth, bad breath, slight loss of taste...anything can go wrong with a piercings and I'm a hygienic person, so to me, anything in the mouth takes away from that. I'm a piercer and I have to do those often, all the girls getting them are doing it on dares or to spite there parents

I had my pierced, but due to a minor infection (so minor I didn't feel the effects until years later) I had to take it out to have surgery on my throat..... The Dr. said that I could have had an ear infection before during or after I got it done.....So make sure you really research your descion, everyone effects are totally different....

how old are you? if 18 and you really want it yes get it but be careful some places are unsafe. also your mom my think its a target for germs and she is right. it also gives others the wrong impression on you. a tongue ring can make others think you are gay or a badword...and thats not good but if you dotn care what they say about you go for it. I am anyways.

I don't see any reason to pierce your tong. Personally I think it's unhealthy and shows a little lack of intelligence. Do as your mother says, she knows best.

harm? Haha slightly! Its gonna be rapid and only approximately painless. do not hardship I questioned an identical undertaking and that i grow to be scared as quickly as I have been given there. After it grow to be pierced, i grow to be like wow that wasn't undesirable. stable luck:)

How old are you. Wait until your of age to make your own decisions, its better to get it late then not at all if you really want to get it.
