Does your best friend tell you your flaws? Every one has flaws, having a best friend would mean seeing each other flaws, but still want to have them as a best friend.

Are you their best friend or are they your best friend. Might not be reciprocal.

If you are their best friend, it gives you the right to tell them of a flaw, but there are ways and means of telling someone. Regard yourself as a life coach as well as friend looking out for mate and trying to help them get more out of life, lovers, or work. Coaching is all about removing flaws.

If you phrased a criticism as:

such as "you would get on so much better with so and so who could help you in your business if you didnt keep swearing in their presence, they dont like it."

or

point out the flaw in someone else, everyone likes gossip like that, and then add when they say "they dont like that flaw", that they do it sometimes too.

I'm not sure. It depends how diplomatic you can be I think, and what your motives are for mentioning it. We all have flaws – that's not going to change, so accept it and just get on with it.

I had a friend who loved to point out people's flaws to them, but it was just to make her feel better about herself because she wasn't very confident. She's not my friend anymore ... I don't like people pointing out my flaws (especially friends!), so why would I do that to someone I thought of as a friend?

Only after it's driven me to question whether I really want them for friends any more - or over the edge into unreasoning anger! I had a friend who assumed that anyone disagreeing with her was an idiot, uneducated, etc. The third time she said well that's just stupid - and she wasn't quiet about it either - I blew! I quietly (like at the top of my voice) reminded her that she wasn't the only person in the place that had a brain, her IQ measured nearly 60 points less than mine, and no I'm not stupid, and I was tired of her calling me stupid, dumb, etc. because my reasoning didn't follow the same lines as hers. The final result: she apologized for the slurs, I apologized for the screeching, and we're still friends, just a lot more careful what we say when we disagree!

My closest friends don't have flaws in their characters that I need to comment on.

Sure go ahead! Then you're "Friend" can tell you about a few of you're own flaws ! Don't be stupid, everyone has flaws, but friends overlook them !

Would you want someone to point out your flaws. Really, we all have them. Why tell them unless it is like lint on them or something that you can easily remove for them. Or if they have food on their face or something simple. But my answer other than that is NO.

We ALL have flaws in our character......if it wasn't anything serious I would just ignore it.
