Switch only branded cards do not work outside the UK. They are only recognised within the UK. They may be co-branded with Maestro and/or Cirrus in which they will be accepted internationally. Visa, Mastercard and American Express are internationally recognised and globally accepted so you should not have any problem with these. However, I would advise taking two cards of different card types/brands e.g. one visa and one amex. This way if there is a problem with one card, you can use the other.

Most UK cards should work worldwide these days. Check the logo/ sign of cirrus/ maestro/ switch/ visa n etc. Most of them are widely accepted when you travel abroad.

Make sure you are aware of charges when you use ur cards overseas at any ATM machine as charges would be applicable unless you have a special type of account which will be free of charge.

You can always have cash as well as cards with you. So if anything happen to you. You have either access. If in doubts, contact your bank before traveling.

Just enjoy your holiday and dun think too much. Have a joyful time. :)

My visa debit card didn't always work. But my Amex credit card did, wherever it was accepted.
