there are a lot of legitimate universities that also offer online courses. Each university is different. I go to NC State and we have some online classes.
People will take a degree seriously if it's from an accredited university. They dont need to know that the university offered the courses online though.

An on line degree is bit of a scam in so far as it is not worth the same value as a regular degree as far as employers are concerned.
