I watched an episode of Gardening by the Yard about a month or so ago about this - go to the website link I gave you to find out what to do.
From Show:
"Although there are a number of ways to control dreaded subterranean dwellers--from trapping and flooding to poison--master gardener Paul James prefers to repel them by using a granular form of his favorite repellent: castor oil. This relatively new product does an excellent job of controlling moles and gophers as well as armadillos."
Click on the source link and you can learn how to do this!:)

I'll probably piss off the PETA devotees and the tree-huggers with this one -
But, an aunt of mine has used chewing gum (already chewed). She would put it down the holes - and the moles would try to eat it. Because they cannot chew the gum, only gnaw - they would get it stuck in their airway, and choke to death. She swears by it - and has never had a huge mole problem since. Occasionally, she may find a brand new hole - but uses the same method - and no more new ones pop up.
If you aren't opposed to poisons - you can also use rodent bait to kill them. This should be avoided though, if you have house pets that may come in contact with the bait.

Let children run all over your back yard! When my sons were young and played outside as much as I could keep them out there, we were the only people in the neighborhood that didn't have ground moles. Yards on both sides of our property had moles but we never had them. We didn't get ground moles until my sons got to their mid-teens and didn't use the yard to run around in as much. However, during the Spring and Autumn they often played softball/baseball in the yard which kept the moles away from the back yard!

Devils is the right word! Over the years I've tried several ways of getting rid of the varmints. You can buy mole traps, but my moles are too smart for traps. Besides, if you killed them you'd have to dispose of the bodies!
The best way I've found is to pour household ammonia, which is cheap and easy to find, down as many of their holes as I can find. They think it's the urine of some big nasty predator, and they leave.
Good luck!

Weird...but I have people coming in to where I work looking for watermelon flavored gum to get rid of ground hogs. I would guess moles might be about the same. They say to throw the gum (unchewed) into the holes, watermelon is the only flavor they like. Anyway, I guess they can't digest it, you can guess the rest. I don't know if it even works for sure, but it would be cheap to try!

I have always heard that moles are attracted by grub worms, get rid of the grubs and you get rid of the moles.

you can smoke bomb them. they sell special stuff that you can buy at a local wal-mart or home improvement store, its just this flair that you light and stick in the hole and cover the hole up and it smokes them out with a poison gas. i think it suffocates them or something and you do it to every hole you can find. quite easy.
