European car owners -what's the most you've ever had to spend on your car for a transmission or engine change?

1994 Porsche 930. 12 K for the engine repairs. And that was in 1998 dollars.

I changed the engine to my BMW 528i for $5000 (engine+labor). The engine wasn't new though.
