I know it has a lot to do with maturity but what is sort of the accepted "norm"?

I think that till 21 you're a teen,during your twenties you're a young woman,during you're 30's & 40's you're a mature woman,after that you're an old woman

If your talking about age then it would be 18 years old. You have to take in account that there are grown women that are a lot older then 18 and they still act like they are girls and are not mature the least bit. Your finally a woman when you are mature, and you carry yourself in a respectable and lady like way. Being a woman is really accepting life and it's responsibilities and being big enough to take them on. Take care!!!

I don't really think it deals with age too much. I would say it's more of a maturity thing and the way she views herself, people around her and her security in herself all together.
But anyone younger than 18...surely cannot be a woman...not YET!

I think that you are considered a woman when you start your period. I also think that you are considered a woman when you act like one. Some women are just girls because of how they handle things. Being a woman is hard work. You don't have to wear makeup and dresses just show a little class.

Legal, you are an adult at 18. As far as being considered a 'woman'.. Well, I would say as soon as you act mature.

usually when you get your period. But I think it has to do more with mental maturity. Any 10 yr old can menstruate. When you start behaving like an adult and taking responsibility and acting wisely then you can call yourself a woman.

Techinically you're a woman when you've started your menstrual cycle, because then you are able to have children. But most will say at 18 you're an official woman. Hope that helps...

I would say physically after you get your period. but a mature woman is when you are evolved! could be at any age.
