You should try and download Julee Cruise. She had a really great song in the late 80's. It was the theme song for Twin Peaks. Her whole album is soft and slow songs. Fake plastic trees by Radiohead.

If you like soft mellow music you should get a hold of anything by 'Sneaker Pimps', their version of firestarter is really good, 'how do' is pretty mellow and i particularly like 'after every party i die'
