The Earth rotates. In the day, the side of the earth were you live is facing the sun. At night, the side of the earth where you live is away from the sun. The light you see during the day, is from the sun. At night the earth blocks the suns light and makes it dark.

Because the Sun is shining on the side of the Earth that is facing the Sun who's light is heading tword the side of Earth that is facing the sun which makes it light in day
The Sun is no longer shining on the side of the Earth which is dark which makes it dark, the only light comes from reflected light from the MOON.

Well, not everywhere is it always dark at night and light in the day... in the Arctic regions it can be dark all dayand night or light all day and night. :0) But yes, that all depends on where we are and what angle with regard to the sun and it's rays.

The earth revolves full circle in 24 hours. When the part of the earth that you live on rotates away from the sun, you have a period of darkness. We call that night time. :)

It is an important question. Obvious answer is there is no sun at night. but cannot the star light fill the night sky.?In principle it can , but the universe is not old enough for that.If you are really interesed , go to an astronomy text.

Light must reflect off of an object for you to see it. Kinda like when you go to the movies. You see some light reflecting off the dust over your head but the major source reflects off the screen. Kinda like the moon and the stars
