skipping will not develop your jump, it is more to develop stamina that is why boxers do it , you have to do weights, have you seen pro players in the gym? they all do weights fot the legs, I have seen people under 6 feet dunk it, there was this player Spud Webb I think under 6 feet, he won the dunk contest in all star game of the NBA back int 80s, also climbing stairs like in a stadium Hakeem Olajuwon did that a lot

okay 1st if you have a stadium near bye do a few sets of stadiums dont do skipping thats not going to help you a whole lot so yea try jumping on benches or something or doing squats

Running to lose any extra weigth you may have
Work out your midsection. Strong abdominal muscles help jumping

Ive played against some short dudes (5'4'' - 5'7''), that could FLY. ONe thing in common, they were very light/fit and had monster calves.

first of all, how tall r u?? 5 feet? 6 feet? and if u want to increase ur vert, start with weights by doing these 3 excercises: squats, lunges, calve raises. after u feel u have sufficient strenght, start with explosive jump training.

Do you have access to a jump machine. It is one which sits on your shoulders and puts weight on you for resistance training. Other than that work your calves.

they have shoes that strengthen the calves, i cant remember what they are called, but the shoes have and extra pad of rubber in the front to stretch and strengthen at the same time, that might help

Stand on your toes, and do exercises in the weight room that encourage you to build strength in your ankles and tendons.

well my guess is that your short an white and that cant help much. learn to pass and shoot the 3 ball. that will give ya a chance
