working is good for money-yes- but theres so much more someone can agin. U get a sense of resposiblitiy. It up to you to do the job, be there on time, and everything. I enjoy that snese ofresposiblity, exspecially when i finsh a project and i go "hey! i did this all by my self!" also, it helps gain experiance in the work world. the more u work, the more u learn, the more u excel. so if u change jobs, theres more to put on a resume, which gives u a better chance of getting the job. u meet new people. and if ur on a diet, i found it helpful becuase i was always busy. i didnt have time to snack (unless if u work at a choclate store or something, that may be harder hahaha). finally, people respect u more if u have/had a job.

There is no substitute for real world experience. A student who has work experience has a distinct advantage over those who don't.

Being at work is not the same as being at school or college. A student who can show work experience shows that they have already dealt with these differences.

Also a student who works also displays a certain type of character. A potential employer will see this as a very good bonus.

It prepares them for what life will be like when they are no longer students and have to work for a living. Life outside of school can be rough and you wont always have family to fall back on. Working while being a student allows you the time to learn what having a job is. It also lets you get all that screwing around on the job, getting fired, and calling off cause you don't feel like coming in, out of your system. Because when its your income and your only way to pay your bills you can't do that any longer. It lets you ease into the responsibilities that lie ahead of you.

As a student you perspedtive of the world revolves around friends and school activities. Going to work gives you a glimpse of the world around you. Exposure to different types of people and the politics or tact required in dealing with the public on a business level. It will also give you exposure to the economics of business. In other words it starts making it possible for you to see the bigger picture of life which you will have to deal with when school is over. It should also help you decide on what career path you will want to focus on. This in turn giving you direction on what courses you will want to study in preparation for the future.

Too much free time promotes procrastination. Ever notice how when you have time to get something done, you don't? Working takes up some of this free time, lessing the procrastination, forcing you to do your work.

It also teaches you responsibility in completeing the task at hand and doing it well.
