Apparently "some" of us snore. Loudly.
Hey when you need to sleep, just go sleep. Especially true when you have differing schedules. Sometimes moms of small kids feel the need to be entirely alone. Not getting enough consistently can have serious effects on your waking lives. And no one says you can't go over for a visit every now and then.

We just got married, and we're not old, but we usually sleep in separate beds (separate rooms, actually). He snores, and I have insomnia; these two just don't mix well. I prefer sleeping separately, anyway; I can totally see making it a permanent arrangement.

because, not all of the old couples still love each other when they are already so old.. or maybe they still love each other, but they are too shy to show it to their children grand children etc. & that they consider sharing a bed together at night is too mushy(?).
AND, now they are old.. they have fragile bones.. imagine they are sleeping and one of they kick one down the bed, i wonder how long they need to spend on the bed to mend a broken bone for falling off the bed at night.. :/

Most of the time it's an issue with snoring. Both of my grand parents had separate bedrooms so that they could sleep.

seomtimes because they don't like each other. Sleeping(actual sleeping) with someone is an intimate act. Some people who don't like each other stay married.( or until the kids move out)

Some people need seperate beds for comfort. Older couples have been together for years. They dont need to sleep beside each other to validate their love for each other.

I think maybe because they have different needs concerning the mattress? Maybe one needs a hard one andt the other needs a really soft one? Not sure really?
