My boyfriend and I want to have babies,but I just want everything to be perfect before we make that big of a step. We're not married and we've only been together for a year and a half. I love him with all of my heart and I would do anything for him. He's ok with the fact that I want to wait....but he "pretends" that we have kids. We've picked out baby names and every morning he text messages me and tells me to tell our "kids"(that aren't really there) that he loves them. I thought it was cute at first,but now I don't know if he's doing so I'll finally just give in and get pregnant or what....I just don't know!!!

I think it would be good to talk to him and let him know that it's going to hurt the relationship between the two of you if he keeps it up. Having children before your ready can hurt the children too. Getting married is a commitment the two of you haven't made to each other yet. If it's what you want wonderful. However, if not, then you don't want children with him either. That gets ugly for everyone. It's ok to move forward slowly. If he loves you then he will respect that. Best wishes.

I think he may just be joking a little, but that he is trying to hint that you two should progress in life together. If you know he is the one you want to stay with and vice versa, then you two should plan out more than just a family. It is a big step, but you need to be as close to settling down as possible,(house & career choices) before you even consider getting pregnant. Alot of stuff changes with kids. Women go through alot of hormonal changes that can also affect your personality and he needs to be ready for those changes and willing to except them. Are you both going to work? Who gets the insurance? Things like that need to be in line. Best Wishes to both of you.

He's definately trying to rush you. Tell him you want to bear his children one day, but that right now you would like to enjoy his company. You shouldn't be pressured into having kids early.
