Get a air conditioner vent deodrant. I think they sell it in Wal-mart in the car care department.

I had an animal die inside the vent system in my van.
The car mechanic I took it to had some device and cleaning solution they used to clean the vents and the airconditioning system out.
I think it cost me about $80. (the whole thing cost me about $1200 as they ended up removing the dash as the f*cking animal made a nest inside the blending box).
I though it worked pretty well at getting the smell out.

Unfortunatly you can't. The best thing to do is replace all vents and ducts. You can get these though a aftermarket store. Try A.R.A. Airconditiong or someone who installs aftermarket A/C in car's or Truck they would have the knowledge and knowhow on these type of things.

if your talking about the vents at the base of the windshield I would suggest you put a teaspoon of bleach in each vent in a day or two the bleach will have evaporated hopefully with the smell.

shoot the cat.
ok, so it won't get the smell out, but it will keep the cat from doing it again.....
try a professional detailer.
they might have some special thing that they can use.
