For Jessica M. -- Thanks, but I wasn't really asking for advice. I have my own budget and am just curious if it is on the conservative or extravagant side. And I have my own way of showing appreciation to those I care for. Please stick to answering the question next time and don't assume too much.

The truth is the budget for Christmas gifts would depend on your income level. You are missing half of the equation. In reality, between now and Christmas if you do one loving thing for each of these people it will be more treasured and remembered than any gift you could buy them.

parent: $15/each parent, or $40 together
spouse: $500--but this is also his birthday gift
child: $50
sibling: $30
closest friend(s): $15-20/friend (already purchased on a cruise)
sister-in-law: $20 (craft project)
pets: $5/pet
grandparents: $5/each (picture of their grandson in a frame)
cousins: $15/each (including shipping)
We are REALLY careful buyers. We've already purchased about half of them!

I would use this budget, but try to stay below by finding sales or other deals.
