The full name of the religion is Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Jehovah's Witnesses understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite

That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire

While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]

Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

A Jehovah's Witness, is a person who witnesses about Jehovah.

Jehovah is the only true God according to the Bible. (Ps. 83:18; John 17:3)

Jesus is the Son of the Most High (Luke 1:31,32)

Jesus is the image of God (2 Cor 4:4, Col 1:15, Heb 1:3)

Jesus is the foremost witness for his Father
(Rev 1:5)

All faithful servants of Jehovah have been witnesses (Heb 12:1)

Acts 15:14, Jehovah is taking people out of all nations for His name sake.

We believe the entire Bible is God's word (2 Tim 3:16)

All teachings must come from His word and not from traditions or philosophies.

I think you're best of asking the local congregation of Jehovah's witnesses for more information. Almost anything said here will have errors in it and may be utterly false because of deep grudges. People will tell you that witnesses will only lie or cover up the "bad" things of their beliefs but how would they know if they never where witnesses. If they where, they where most likely disfelowshiped and hold some sort of a grudge. Go straight to the source instead.

They are a Christian religious group who claim that they only teach what is in the Bible. They will quote you a scripture to 'prove' to you that their teachings are based on the Bible.

Here is an example:

They used to believe that the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt was built under the guidance of Jehovah God as a prophetic 'witness in stone' . This is the scripture they used to 'prove' it.

Isaiah 19:19, 20
"In that day shall there be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the Lord. It shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt."

Now they believe it is a monument to demonism.

As you can see, when they say they only believe the Bible, not tradition or private interpretations,, they are deceiving themselves. .

Jehovah's Witnesses are people who believe in God. They believe Jehovah is God. Jesus is His son. Holy Spirit is an active force. They go from door to door telling people about their beliefs. When they come to your door, you can ask them about what they are taught and believe.

If they don't come to your area, you can send away for some of their materials so you can read it for yourself.

It is an organization filled with contradictions in the teaching and false prophecy. Deuteronomy chapters 13 and 20 set for the reasons why there are false prophets and the remedy is not to listen to them.

It's a religion. I'll refrain from posting anything insulting about the religion but I'll be honest and think it's full of crap and members can be VERY annoying.

They don't celebrate birthdays or holidays. Also, seems like they emphasize the end of the world.
