I have a problem. Currently my gf is away at school and i'm working in a city 2 hours away. We have been on again off again for almost 2 years now and I love her with all my heart and would do anything for her.

The thing is she is really struggling with school + money right now. She doesn't think she will have enough money to complete her year and says that work is piling up too fast.

She calls me all upset because she isn't sure what to do and keeps saying she feels like quitting because there is no way she is going to be able to pay for everything, work and finish all her assignments.

I feel bad because I tell her that it will be alright and that she first has to calm down and that she shouldn't quit but she just doesn't want to seem to listen. She is upset and won't seem to take my advice even though I offer to help because she claims i can't really do anything since i am not there.

Its tough because I love her and want to help but feel like I am being pushed away.

As a mature woman...I personally pull away, push away those closest to me when in bad situations/problems. My reasons are, I feel like a baby, whining to others..My father raised us children, not to share personal probs' with others...BIG girls don't cry, etc.
Biggest reason I clam up is, I feel I will eventually fig' out my prob' on my own!!!
Give her space, let her calm down...Don't totally ignore her...But, don't bug her either!!!
There are financial aide programs...Would suggest to her, not to get student loans!!!
Maybe she does need to take a semester off???...My 23 yr. old son had to, due to burn out.

Hence: Love hurts???

She's VERY frustrated right now and its hard to be logical when you are stressed and upset. Just let her know that you are there for her when she is ready to talk but dont keep in her ear. When you are frustrated you have to figure things out on your own before you can deal with anyone else. Just let her know you are there for her emotionally and maybe you should add on being there physically ; go see her. And add on financially, if she's your girl and she's having money problems, help her out!

aww it is so sweet to see that there is a guy in this world that cares about his girl. my best advice would be keep supportingher. tell her to get finacial aid and things should be fine ....its tough out here and you need to know what ur getting urself into b4 u back out...

the only reason she is prob pushing you away is because she fels that she dosent want to bug you with this or that it may upset you..just tell her that youre there for her NO MATTER WHAT..things should work out fine! good luck to you and youre girl

She doesn't want you to fix her problems. She wants to share her emotions with you. If you want to be a good friend, then just listen to her. If she wants your advice/help, she'll ask for it. good luck!
