Personally, I think that no one should use the word. It is degrading.

However, it makes you think.
What are these people's motives behind asking such a question? Why would they want to say the word in the first place?

I'm not saying that all who make this statement are racist themselves, it's just that the question itself has a racist ring to it.

I guess they are wondering this: If the word is okay to use in movies and in music, why can't everyone use it. They are falsely assuming that the word in not loaded. They falsely assume that it is a term of endearment. They falsely assume that because it is used in pop-culture, it is a acceptable word for all to use.

I think that though their questions, we should all be able to see that the word has not lost its negative meaning.

I am NOT justifying in anyway using that word because I don't like it either. But black people end that word with an 'A' rather then the original spelling and pronunciation of 'er'. I don't think it's much more of a difference to be honest with you. Everyone knows what the words true meaning is and anyone that uses that word, even black people using the alternative pronunciation, should think twice about it. It is degrading, negative and harmful.

I think those people who says like that are actually a having a complex nature. The y don't have any guts to do somthing much better then those. so they call only the names to other black redindian white asian muslim jews chines etc. so no one is superior if some one think it he is a great fole

I think there is something to it. When a black person calls someone a "******" he means something completely different than when a white racist person calls someone a "******". There is a different connotation in the two uses and it makes a huge difference.

Mary C... your argument is not very persuasive. If a black person called you a 'white *****', you would be insulted. However, if you called yourself the same thing, it would not be an insult. So, we are all square. No one is allowed to call me an Irish bastard, but if I call myself such a thing, it is my prerogative.

you know you have to put things in perspective. our young men now these day say hello and greet each other in different ways but when they do say it is not racist,we are not asking no to go around calling them selves craker or whity if they dont want to it up to the individual themselves so we need to stop worring about what or how people want to greet their one another.
