I look up voting records on the issues important to me and go from there. That tells it all.

If they were former governors or whatever (held other offices in their states), then you can go back and research their history as governor or whatever. It just takes a little homework to make an intelligent decision.

I believe that's the case now. I don't believe in political parties, myself. It's like picking either black or white. Well, things in real life don't work that way so why should the political system be any different? Plus, party affiliation only opens up the door for corruption and close-mindedness.

In a more efficient system, parties wouldn't matter, only individual candidates and what they stand for. If this country is to successfully work in the future, this point must be achieved. And hopefully, it will.

Once upon a time I voted by party line, now I vote on the individual and their past track record on issues. Problem I see is that a split congress seems to get little done except finger pointing and name calling. Maybe it's time to bring back the monarchy?
