My opinion, McQueen...he was just naturally cool, whereas Dean had to put effort in to maintain his bad boy image (eg, greasing his hair, cigarette hanging out of his lips etc etc).

Both in their own ways.

Dean for showing you could make yourself cool.You can use things to make yourself something/ someone else (worked for marilyn, pammy & jordan!)

Mc Queen for having that effortless way about him, not many people are blessed with that. Samuel .L. Jackson is the only person I can think of now with that effortlessly cool persona.

Sounds about right to me...& McQueen stood the test of time too(not that Dean ever got the chance, of course).
