The UN is an entity necessary for the will of the world community to be made known to the USA. Without the UN it would be much harder to see exactly who our enemies are. Thanks to the UN we now have seen who applauded Chavez and Ahmedinejad which defines exactly who our enemies are.
Other than this oversight your summation is correct.
