Union Station does the duet with Alison Krauss according to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/When_You_Say_Nothing_at_All

Added - According to this http://www.alisonkrauss.com/
Alison Krauss with Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas were nominated in the Vocal Group of the Year category for the 4oth Annual Country Music Association Awards. So, maybe it is Jerry Douglas doing the vocals on that song.

"Keith Whitley released it in 1988. Alison Krauss and Union Station later remade it and released it. The reaction from the public was so intense that, country DJs nationwide often mixed it on the air with Whitley's original to create a spontaneous necro-duet."

So it is Keith Whitley's voice you hear, it was just added into the newer version by Alison Krauss.

Union Station is her band, and it's probably someone in the band that is singing with her. Keith Whitley did the original version of the song, but I don't think he is singing with her on her version.

Keith Whitley. By the way...isn't it the most beautiful song! It's my favorite, and really reminds me of my husband (he's pretty quiet). It's the song I chose for (my) My Space.

Keith Whitley. Its actually his song. He was the first to record it & later died. The duet with Allison Krause is actually fake, the two versions were edited together.
