Hi Guys!
Just wondering what you thought about this. I am almost 6 months pregnant with my 2nd son ( I am married and 33) and I am wondering if you would make fun of him because of his name.
The name I am going to give him is: BINGHAM WINSTON KNIGHT.
Bingham is my maiden name ( your maiden name is the last name you are born with as a female) and winston is my Dad's middle name. We will call him Bing for short.
If you knew of a boy named Bing would you make fun of him or would you not even bother with making fun of his name?
Thanks,
Jennifer
PS: The baby is due Jan. 25th

The baby's due date is the same day as my sister's bday.
But anway, to be honest, yes little Bing would be made fun of. Constantly.

I wouldn't make fun of a boy named Bing but I'm sure others would. I might laugh about that name if he were my friend though--just joking around as friends. I think that is a very proper name and you may want to tone it down a little bit. Maybe switch the middle name to something more common so he can go by his middle name instead. I guess if I had even the slightest thought my child might be made fun of because of a name I gave him--I wouldn't name him/her that. It's your decision though--so make it well it will stick with him for the next eighteen years whether he likes it or not. Hopefully he'll like it.

You already know the answer to this questions. Sure he's going to be kidded. You can have a perfectly normal name when your a kid and still someone will find a way to kid you about it. If your really set on naming him Bingham you could always call him BW.
Or switch the names and call him Winston Bingham Knight. Then you could call him Tony or something. Just remember whatever nickname you give him will be it for life. Be kind

Depends on where you live. In the states names like those are acceptable but in the UK he would probably get a great deal of flack for that. If you're concerned then maybe it will be a problem. you probably have very good idea of what your community and social circle are like. I understand your wish to honour your family name but if you're already naming him after you father then why don't you drop the maiden name. OR alternately, Add another name to the front. My cousin did it! (First name), (HER dad's name), (HIS dad's name), (Surname)! yes her kid has more names than he can spell but so what? Everyone's winner! Why don't you try Alex Bingham Winston Knight. Alex Knight has a nice ring to it! Hope this helps and good luck whatever you do!

Unfortunately, he would probably be made fun of. Kids find a way to make fun of anything. They don't need any encouragement. I think Bing is a fine name, but perhaps like the person who suggested Winston Bingham Knight, that may be better for your child.
God Bless You.

Yes, he will be made fun of.
Whatever happened to normal names?
Why all the last names first?
Cooper, Parker, Tailor, Johnson, Jackson ?????
Do y'all think you're on a soap opera or something?
How 'bout ya just name him George, OK?

No matter what you name your son there will always be a kid out there to make fun of him. But Winston would give less opt and you could call him Win what a positive name

Not a chance in hell. Sorry but if she wants to have a son who is picked on his whole life then tell her to go for it. Her son will hate her for it, and I can guarantee he will never use that name. Jason is cute though, tell her to use that or give the kid two middle names like jason _______ cupid _(last name)__ eg. Jason Dylan Cupid Smith.. If she really wants to use the name cupid that is the best way. please don't let her. if you are her friend you will talk her out of it.

That is definately original and I applaud you for that. If you are worried about what he will be picked on about...it won't always be his name. I think it's kind of cool. Kids pick on one another for whatever reason all the way through high school...I say go for it. What is your other childs name?

Kids are cruel and that name will definitely be different from all the Tom, John, and Joe's he is going to go to school with. Name him what ever you wish just think about what he is going to go through?
