ok that is not all of you i am talking about the ones who are always touching people and acting like they have every thing but in reality they dont and i do not understand it okay people guys and girls tell me why this is so

because people let them be that way. "Jerkiness" - ooo I coined a new word.. wohhoo!!
Jerkiness is something that is learned. Usually be example. So if dad was a jerk, chances are the son will be a jerk. But... don't these "jerks" really get what they want? most of the time they go after a girl they want... and disguise the "jerkness" as confidence and the girl buys it until sometime after the second or third time she has "givin it up" to him. then she starts to discover that the confidence is really jerkness and then breaks off the relationship - then tells all her friends what a jerk the guy was.... thereby enhancing his jerk reputation (which is misread by another girl as confidence and so on and so on). See.. we as women seem to think that where one fails (in this case chaning or taming the jerk) we can succeed. But it doesn't work that way. the only way a jerk turns into a nice guy is when they are no longer able to use the jerkiness to their advantage and decide to change their behavior. NO ONE CAN DO THAT but the person who wants to change - not their mother, brother, sister, wife, girlfriend, anyone.. to change a person has to want to do it themselves.
So.. thats why guys are jerks... because we have enabled them to be that way!

Yes, most guys are jerks, but there is a small majority, including me, that are real romantics, guys that literally sweep a girl off her feet, but guys like me are not noticed by girls who really want to be loved. That is one of the problems.
The second is that guys notice that girls are more attracted to guys who even make fools of themselves just to get attention.
Don't judge all guys, try to see that minority and maybe you'll find your guy.

its a lack of self esteem. They need to make themselves bigger than reality in other peoples' eyes.

As you rightly mentioned, Only a few are that way... They think high of themselves, because others dont think high of them... So they behave that way, as though they are the greatest on earth... :-)
