Changing default program

1, Right click on file and select "Open with ... choose program".
2. Click on the correct program. If not listed then click "Browse".
3. Place a check in the box "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file".

There is 2 problems in this:
1. your file associations are not properly set, may be you thought that pdf files can be opened in word. so to rectify that :
go to mycomputer => tools => folder options => file types
this is where the computer keeps which file is to be opened with what program. locate the .pdf file which is associated with word
and delete it. so even you doubble click on any pdf file it will not automatically open in word.

2. the pdf files are adobe acrobat files. to read them, you need to install the adobe acrobat reader the recent version is 6.0 and its good it has lots of search facility and it can be downloaded free from www.adobe.com. when you install the system automatically updates the .pdf files associate with adobe accrobat.

after that you can doubble click or download the pdf file it will open adobe acrobat and you can view the contents.
