ok so the other day i change my oil and i over tied the oil plug, now my bike leeks oil .........so i guess i striped the threds in the inside because the oil plug threds look fine. so i bought a over size oil plug with self tap threds .. i hope i did the right thing i ride a zx7r ---750 ...year 2000

if you did the job correctly, then you have nothing to worry about.

however, if you did a mickey mouse job....be afraid...be very afraid.

that kind of repair is done all the time...you really should have just got a new cover. Im mean, just to be on the safe side.

Sorry guy - bad move.
The oil pan is thin. To make it strong enough to to hold a bolt, the material around the bolt is enlarged. By tapping new threads for an over sized bolt, you considerably weakened the oil pan. Now the oil pan is very susceptible for stress cracks. You should have listened to every one and repaired the threads.
You just did a back yard mechanic quick fix. But hey...it's not my bike. When you blow up your bike, bring it to me. I'll gladly take $2500 to repair it. Shoot the lock off your wallet and buy a new oil pan.

man your probably fine. I did the same thing on a dirtbike with an aluminum case. I would take the pan down and make absolutely sure there isn't any shavings in there.
